Went up to Gravenhurst for the long weekend and hung out with Alisons [my wife] family. Lots of eatin and drinkin, scrabble and reading Ben Shahns' "The Shape of Content" and Shirley Jackson short stories.
I took off early in the mourning to do a some sketching about town.
I'd get up at the crack of dawn and wake up Alison with all my banging around looking for my sketchstuff. Never seem to remember to prepare it the night before and scoot out quitetly.

The first one is sitting in a coffee shop on main street drinking a terrible cup of coffee

had to go to Tim Hortons to get another cup.

The lovely Opera House in Town

A church beside a graveyard

and young rachel gearing up for some knee boarding, colby on the rocks and a head

Great studies. Love the colors. I really need to go out and sketch sometime too. I spend way to much time trapped in my studio.

These are all wonderful. However, I'm most in-love with your character studies of the folks at Tim Horton's. They're so cool.
