Neat

I'll be spinning singles until its time to watch some fireworks in the park across street.

Rose

I was planning on doodling a scythe wielding batwinged creature but my mom surprised me with a lot of amazing greens from her garden so I made her dinner instead. Now I just feel like listening to records, but here is the first rose in my garden.

I Maniaci

Watched THE KILL LIST (2011) which I really liked and found  quite spooky at times.  I noticed in the reviews people had problems with the last segment, which I had no problem with at all and liked. As a counterpoint to that  films violence I watched Lucio Fulci's comedy I MANIACI, with a great Barbara Steele segment.

Matheson and Devo

I was sorry to hear the passing of Richard Matheson and Alan Myers of Devo.  Matheson was a writer I felt in love in with early on. His novels. THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN,  I AM LEGEND,  and  HELL HOUSE his countless amazing short stories and TWILIGHT ZONE scripts and his screenplays for many Corman Poe films were all things I loved growing up. And Devo, well I can always watch or listen to Devo. Seeing their recent tour doing the first albums was a awesome experience.

Morning

Searle in America

My piece "Trinians Arise" for the SEARLE IN AMERICA  fundraiser put together by Pixar story artist Matt Jones. Matt, who knew Searle, did a very cool thing by surprising me with a personal note from Searle and a champagne cork from the bottle they were drinking that I jokingly (tho seriously hoping) requested, which I've posted earlier but here it is again. I'm honored to be a part of this as Searle has been favorite.

Morning

Reading Gahan Wilson collection of short stories THE CLEFT and really enjoying it so far. Also my battle to save my few tomatoes from raccoons begins. I'd like to enjoy these with the delicious salads and greens from my mom's awesome garden later on.

Helped a friend drawing a snail shell for a poster and ended the night with this doodle

Cannibal Girl

Doing this one made me realize I should get back to doing my Morbids strips.

Fraidy

and mine morning reading with coffee. I managed to snag the good chair before the neighbors cat Blackspot comes over.

Mamie Van Doren

Last night TCM had a killer Mamie Van Doren marathon with a couple I hadn't seen which is great. Apart from Mamie there is the added treat of  Vampira (in unfortunately small roles tho her as a beatnik poet in THE BEAT GENERATION is great), Eddie Cochran,  Louis Armstrong, Jackie Coogan, John Carradine and others.

Necronominuts

Sketchbook silliness that I can't stop myself from drawing:-) Apologies to Sparky again.
