Ghostcats in a Vampire Ossuary

Snakes

I have a couple volumes of this great Polish animal encyclopedia that a library was throwing out. I wish I had grabbed more but a lot were very damaged, the images are great.

GhostCat

Jocelyn's Ghostcat. I imagine if it hung around another day I would have done some touch ups but I dropped it off to her husband at FanExpo today.

THIS MAGAZINE

was purchased on the way out of FanExpo and is one of my favorite titles for a comic ever.
Made it down for the last hour or so of the con. I was dropping some stuff of to artist Nat Jones and excited to finally meet Mike Mignola in person who I've only exchanged artwork with and talked online. Both artists are truly nice people and its great to hear how much they enjoy the Happy Undertaker.

Ghostcat

in progress. A commission for Nat Jones' wife Jocelyn.

Sketchbook

Yesterday I came across this great. old handmade 12 by 20 sketchbook in a favorite used book shop. Nice off white and yellowing paper in between wooden boards. I love the carved in animals and title. I'm really looking forward to drawing in it but I'm also nervous I don't want to mess up any sheets so I imagine I'll be planning more what goes inside unlike other sketchbooks.

Hammerhead

awesome page of shark sketches from my penpal buddy
.

David Stone Martin

I love David Stone Martin's illustrations.. particularly his fifties jazz album covers and books. This was a cheap bin find of him drawing monsters in 81. Sadly the tunes do not do justice to the cool titles of the songs.

Flower

A friend is coming over to take me out to dinner, how nice! Especially since today I picked up a original copy of my favorite Byrds record for five bucks.. I love this record with songs that choke me up and this cover is a beauty tho really beaten to crap but the vinyl itself is perfect. I also found out that one of the guys from Flower Travellin Band( a Japanese hard rock band from the early seventies) lives in Toronto.. I was so shocked I forgot to ask who. Tho I love the record Satori.. this cover is pretty incredible and as someone who had a motorcycle this is something I was never tempted to do.

Jack Davis

My copy of the record sadly does not contain the cards but Davis did some of the best Monster cards ever.

I pulled these off of Tumblr...

Taxi!

Getting wisdom from space is always good but sometimes you need to hear it from the regular man on the street.....and a dancing cat..

I love

mail... a postcard from a Happy Undertaker fan from somewhere I've never been..Arkansas

Morbids-Carnival Pt.14

Morbids-Carnival Pt.13

Macaroni and cheese.

I've started illustrating a rant  by a chef for a new food column.  A great chef and a great ranter. This is part of a sketch for the first one of a unused idea. A alternate sketch was picked.

My ear

Spicy Pineapple

and trout with oyster mushrooms is what I'm making and listening to Takeshi Terauchi. I'm a huge fan of Terauchi, a legendary Japanese guitarist and renaissance man (karate and Zen master, producer and he built Japans' first pa amongst other things) and have downloaded everything I could over the years so I was happy to buy this vinyl collection tho I would welcome all his works coming out. Also looking forward to watching POOR PRETTY EDDIE. I've never seen it but with Shelly Winters, Slim Pickens, Ted (Lurch) Cassidy and other how can you go wrong.

Coffee

with the soundtrack of my favorite Disney film ( tho Pinochio and 101 Dalmations are always close) and some wisdom from space that never seems to rub off.

Dinner

was very pleasant this evening. After coming home I made a thaish chicken. I was veggie for many years and mostly eat veggie but if I do make meat at home I buy free range organic blah blah cause the chickens deserve  the best life they can get. Stared at my Devo European pressing of New Traditionalists ( a Devo I album I didn't have) that I got for five bucks, read a Wilson story from this great collection then settled back to the adventures of the nicest person I know in PA who sends me great letters before I head out. Have a good night folks.
