did this at night watching old Twilight Zone dvd's. Was planning on leaving it black and white but ended up adding colour. Love those old Twilight Zones.
It's so...creepy...macabre....fabuloso! I totally love your "book covers." They really enhance the feeling I get that behind your captured moments there must be a story, and they always do such a fine job of capturing the right look for the genre. This one actually reminds me of a notion I used to have (and have since changed) that I wanted to be buried sans coffin so I could fertilize the land and be part of the trees and flowers. I've given up on that idea though; instead I want to be cremated and baked into a loaf of bread with which someone will make tea sandwiches to serve when folks make their sympathy calls. Yum...
This is another great Drazen treat! (the illo not the bread)
I'm glad you went with color. That greeny-yellow adds to the oddity of the piece. Like the little gal's head-buns! Great piece and really like your work!
Ha! I knew you can out do yourself, actually you seem to out do yourself with every piece! Looks great in colour, and it's the perfect colour for the theme of your illustration! Lovely! As always.
JOrge and Stef- thanks.the I draw and ink by hand [in this case on tracing paper which is not usual] and digital coluring using photoshop. atomicvelvetsigh- I finised the drawing at 3 in the mourning and did write and quicly rough a story that I hope to get too. Its not pleasant tho! Carla-Thanks. Im for cremation too. Josh- thanks, I was going to do a little twilight zone post, with this but maybe later this week. Serling is genius but I have real soft spot for two of the other writers Richard Matheson and particularly Charles Beaumont. Paintmonster-thanks! amazing what masking tape look can do!
Drazen, this is brilliant. I wish that there was a true line of creepy children's books like this! Man, great colors and great stylized characters here. Wonderful job on this!
Drazen! This is ghooly and gorgeous. I love it so! I love the idea of you publishing a whole set of "tiny troubles adventures" in the golden book vein. OH, please, seek a publisher and do this!!! PLEEEEASE!!
If I may, one crit...I'm not crazy about the font for "Roots". I don't have a solution to offer but that's really the only thing that takes away from this stunning peice.
Damn! just when I was starting to like the font! Actually i had another one in mind but couldn't quite find just the rigt one and was thinking about just drawing it. Came across this and it worked okay for me , it seemed ot offset the grimness a bit and time you know. THanks a lot for your comment Paige and I'm glad you like the piece. I'm woking on the books, we'll see what happens.

This tells such a great story. Fantastic! Love the extra hands coming up. You outdid yourself.
Very Nice! Reminds me of Edward Gorey or Gris Grimly.

So cool, Drazen. Glad you decided to go with colors. They're awesome, as is the creepy concept.
And a very Golden/Wonder book color palette as well! Great illo, Drazen.
Wow, great illo !
Wow...increible workmanship and creativity - how clever and completely original!
Ha...fantastic! Very nice choice with the torn book spine.
Nice stuff. Tim Burtonesque. I love Twighlight Zone. Rod Serling wrote about 70% of them, I heard.
This is so neat! I love how it looks like a really scary picture book and the style is so great!
