If you haven't picked up Gene Deitch's complete collection of the Terrible Thompson strips from the 50's
released by Fantagraphics last year, well you should.
A beautiful book!
I also finally got around to reading Deitch's wonderful memoir of his life in Prague. In 1959 Gene went to work for 10 days,
fell in love with Zdenka a co-worker, and turned his world upside down by leaving his home, family and security and moving to Prague in the grip of communist rule
where he still lives today. Funny, and filled with sad and strange stories For the Love of Prague is a beautiful book about
a love affair and city.
It also gives you the reason why Terrible Thompson was stopped after 6 months but I'm not telling.

I saw that Terr'ble Thompson book recently and was thinking of you. Love the way Deitch coloured that strip -- he was such a genius.
