After trying to coordinate our schedulees for almost a year "The Smook" [reddot in links] and I finally managed to get it together and
sketch at the zoo today. Lots of Fun, Heres some of sketches, hope to post some more soon .

Since last we met Mike got himself a real fancy pants camera,,here he is in ACTION!

At one point as we were heading on up to the Ostrich section I started telling Mike about how Johnny Cash almost got killed
by an Ostrich who attacked him and he had to fight him off. We got closer and saw 4 baby ostriches on a hill and as we walked closer to take pictures, ol Papa Ostrich crested the hill and came charging at us and stood angry and flapping and rearing when he hit the rock wall. I stepped back and Mike kept taking pictures and I think both of us were surprised how close we were. The seperating stone wasn't all that high.
Well someone yelled at us and as it turned out we had stumbled behind restricted lines which explained our good view.

Hopoefully it won't be so long before our next sketching out as its always nice to sketch and catch up with the Smook
and I also left my coffe mugg in his car

And what I happened to be listening to as I loaded up this entry...

It was a good day. Looks like I
'shot' that gazelle before I 'shot' that zebra.

Great stuff Drazen. A day drawing with the Smook--what a life. I spent a day at the San Deigo Zoo last week. Didn't draw a thing. I wish I were like you.

Listen guys, am I ever jealous!
The zoo for me as been jaded.
It consists of me,my wife and our 3 kids, a wagon full of gear, and a flock of sea gulls hovering over for Cheeto's. I feel like I'm in some kind of 50's B movie. "Attack of the Ridolin Three!" Actually...ITS WORSE! It was Halloween and kids with costume get in free. Alls I remember is telling my little Spiderman to "STOP SITTING on batman's HEAD!" and the next thing I know, I have 2 other Spidermans crying. (seriously) Oh,well, all in due season I guess, all in due season...
Great sketches by the way.

I've yet to actually go to a zoo, or rather the only zoo we have here in Maine, but I'm almost entirely sure that when I do wind up going, my experience will most likely be quite similar to Enzo's.

Definitely looks like fun. Love the camel and monkey sketches

Oh man, the ostrich story is hilarious! I'll refrain from making gags about Smook's head/ostrich eggs etc.
Sweet sketches, good to see zoo sketches in COLOUR.

I went recently to the menagerie in Paris & I'll be posting the drawings I made there soon.

Mr. Drazen, nice set of sketches. I've heard that ostriches can be quite badass when they need to be. Love that simple elephant sketch!
