Ray

Harryhausen, set complete:-) Luckily I bought all these pre-ordered as they came out as Vol 2 and 3 are  ridiculously expensive if you can find them.

Wink one eye

sketchbook…

while listening to the fantastic Rosemary's Baby soundtrack of music released on vinyl for the first time, different than that released in the sixties.

Reptile Man

A failed sketch while watching Yakuza movies..I had high hopes for this one but it will take another try at some point, all the color got washed out and overworked.

Shamrock

I got my Death Records shirt today, The Phantom of the Paradise is a favorite movie, and a Shamrock Shake for the first time in a looong time only one of which I enjoyed (shirt) but the shake was in honor of a friend's recent move.

Plague and Peat

My friend picked me put  some great stuff from Scotland including a Nessie snow globe, sketchbooks, haggis chips, peat whiskey and some plague doctor art along with a great slideshow of photos of things I wanted to see. I've been to England a number of times but never to Scotland or Ireland, both places I'd like to visit one day.

Boschx

Also the Bosch box is coming in handy as I put to gather a little surprise box of stuff and nonsense for a friend.

lunch

I had a lovely morning so I made lunch for a friend today, scallops , spinach , mushrooms and lamb.

Bosch

I love Bosch (who doesn't) but I wasn't sure I needed another book on him but I caved in on the one recently from Taschen with beautiful blow up reproductions and giant fold outs of The Garden of Earthly Delights and The Last Judgment shot from recent restorations which are not done justice in these quick photos.

Searle in America

Catalogue for the Searle in America show with my piece Trinian's Arise.

Drawing Inside

Recently, I did a Witch art trade with artist/director Troy Nixey and Troy's awesome piece arrived today along with a beautifully inscribed slipcased edition of Guillermo del Toro's The Strain which he illustrated. For the curious,  my Witches are here.

Happy Undertaker

Scottish blackbirds

Fondue

I love a fondue tho its not something you can eat every week, usually I have one once a year when my brother in law brings back the best swiss fondue cheese from Switzerland (which he makes sure he lets me know multiple times), nice white wine and we all pass out afterwards. Bonus nachos.

I Can Fly

For a measly 3 bucks I found this 1966 oversized version of I Can Fly with a dust jacket and back cover I don't have. I've never seen Mary Blair's illustrations for this book reproduced better, just beautiful. This version may have been reprinted but if so I missed it and I prefer the cover from the first printing.

And my old version….

My Elephant Book

I love this cover. Aurelius Battaglia is one of my favorite kid book illustrators from  the fifties and sixties.

Evening

I was excited to get the new PHANTOM OF THE PARADISE bluray from Arrow films, a favorite film. I watched it tonight and it looked amazing as well as darker and more contrasty then any previous version I've seen which was little jarring at first. Looking forward to all the extras while I season a new cast iron pan. While searching for a gift for a friend at a antique fair I picked myself up this lovely late arts and crafts  inkwell from  about 1930 and letter holder thing that I quite love. Now I have to find a nice bronze letter opener.
